Happy Boy

A few posts back I mentioned that we were never happier than we are in the fall, riding in the combine/semi/tractor. Well, Colton may have just jumped ship.  Today, despite the 20 degree temps, snow showers and freezing cold feet, he sat in the hunting shack behind our house for a good 6 hours. Finally, about 5:45 pm, his patience paid off. For the first time while hunting with dad, he saw Jason actually shoot one. Thanksgiving means...

Today we head off to an early Thanksgiving celebration for the Stockment Family at Luke & Karlies. Poor Em just cannot grasp that we are not going for a birthday, so I started to quiz her more about what Thanksgiving is.  "Emmalyn, what do we celebrate at Tnanksgiving?" She came back with a very loud answer, so confident: "I know, we celebrate MEAT, you know, like Turkey!" Her dad was elated. Finally a holiday for the "meat-a-tarians" in the world.  Me, I was completely embarrassed that she a.) didn't realize we count our many blessings this time of year and b.) that she likely thinks we are celebrating deli sliced turkey, because let's face it...that's really been her only interaction with turkey!  Three Cheers to Deli Turkey this Thanksgiving, the Celebration of MEAT!
