A few posts back I mentioned that we were never happier than we are in the fall, riding in the combine/semi/tractor. Well, Colton may have just jumped ship. Today, despite the 20 degree temps, snow showers and freezing cold feet, he sat in the hunting shack behind our house for a good 6 hours. Finally, about 5:45 pm, his patience paid off. For the first time while hunting with dad, he saw Jason actually shoot one. We both agree Colton's too young to do anything himself (he still shoots his BB gun only when we are watching), but he LOVES hunting with Dad. Learning. Observing. Asking ALOT of questions. Taking it all in. Jason said that once they both saw the doe, Jason lined up the shot, and the he actually shot it, Colton was in complete awe! The grin started when they realized it was down, and they did the silent "that was AWESOME" cheer, and I'm pretty sure he was still grinning when we put him to bed.
