December

December - the month of Joy. The month the kids finally got to go back to school. The month when Keaton FINALLY learned how to tie his own darn shoe! :) HA  No, we love December and were pressed that come hell or high water, this Covid year was NOT going to steal our December sunshine. We would find new things to enjoy, there were lights to see, presents to buy, food to make -- and we did it all. We hit up the We Care Park in Kokomo, which, we found out, is in it's last year......to see/walk through their light display. The kids had actually seen this on TV on the Great Christmas Light Fight -- that's how they learned about the display. We took Grandma & Grandpa Hall along for the trip and really enjoyed the park! The weather was actually perfect too - chilly, but not ridiculous cold!  Jason did a LOT of trapping in the month of December. Like, I think that's all he did. Work and trap. But, he did happen to take Emmalyn and catch both a coyote and this adorable girl in ...

November -- we've been hit

On Tuesday, November 3rd, we went to John's Gretencords funeral. I had a headache, but assumed it was from the crying and general sadness of the day. I didn't think much of it. I also had a bit of a stuffy nose. Since Emmalyn had her first basketball game -- I decided Wednesday I better get to the doc and check it out. I'll be honest - with Covid encompassing nearly every symptom, there is no getting normal sick anymore. I was convinced it was just a sinus infection, and after a copay and visit to Urgent Care, the nurse practitioner said the same. In fact, she didn't even mention a Covid test. All good, clear conscience, meds in tote -- let's keep living life.  We went to Em's game that Thursday, and Mom & Dad rode along with us. I gave them a heads up that I wasn't 100%, but they were game to go. In fact, Dad wound up offering to keep the book -- which worked out for him, because the girls got creamed 30-2. Sorry Em -- it was rough. Em's fighting th...

October - one of our favorite months!

We love fall. Covid or no covid -- you weren't stopping us from going to the farm for harvest. School's in full swing, sports are in full swing....but come hell or high water, we are spending every free minute in Wolcott. It is the time of year all five of us enjoy together. How blessed we are that Grandpa & Uncle Trent let us come around and help out on the farm.  Football and Farming -- does it get any more Fall than that?   We had a great fall with our sports kids too. Colton completed his second year of middle school football and had a great year! They didn't miss any games due to Covid - which was a total feat!! Grandpa's are holding down Fall harvest business, but Grandma's are always such great supporters!  The last game of the season was up at West Central and it was a spectacular sunset night -- and a win to end the season!  Emmalyn played her first season of volleyball and man was it fun. I actually offered to help Jen Newcom coach just to make sur...
