Out of the mouthes of babes...

Here lately, I feel like I could write a book of all the hilarious things spewing out of you kids mouths.....daily. Every single day you're saying something that either leaves us laughing, scratching our heads, and hiding our laughter until we can rehash your hilariousness when you're not there to understand WHY you are funny. For example....Colton, as your little 1st grade mind bends, shapes & grows, you can often be found rhyming words. For example, how you made up the "deaner, weiner" chant....then got mad at your sister for calling you that. You started it. Sorry. Not sorry. Or, the one that really took your Dad and I by surprise....we were having a nice dinner conversation, and honestly, for the life of me I cannot remember what was said prior to this (probably because I'm still in shock you even said it...), but as you picked up your plate to walk to the kitchen, your rhyming words led you to say, "Okay. Skanks!".........perhaps you were rh...

Princess for a Day

Typically, Emmalyn is my tom-boy. She loves a good dress, but also loves her carhart overalls, her cowgirl boots and hunting with Dad. The only princesses she knows are Elsa & Anna, and perhaps Cinderella, on a good day...though she's never watched the movie from start to finish.  Earlier this winter, the photographer who did our family photos this summer, posted about doing a "Princess Day", complete with princess outfits, hair & make up....and of course, photos! Madi did not stop grinning. Emmalyn loved wearing make up. They both looked ADORABLE as Elsa (of course they both had to be Elsa....IS there another princess right now!?!?). And to our surprise, they got to dress up as not only one princess, but two.  SO. MUCH. FUN. Even for Aunt Jess & I. Though, we didn't ...

New Year

It's a new year. Time to start fresh. Our babies will turn 7, 5 & 2 this year. Jason and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage. (If we make it to July...haha). Emmalyn will start Kindergarten. Colton will move on to 2nd grade. Keaton will chill out (right, he will..surely? I mean, terrible twos don't have anything on the past 18 months, right? PLEASE?!?!)  Where oh where does the time go. 2014 was good to us in so many ways. We are blessed beyond measure, and thankfully, the good Lord keeps blessing our family. Our kids are growing and reaching new heights daily. Jason's job is steady and he's really enjoying it. My work is good, my boss is amazing, and I'm learning how to manage (slowly) three kids, a school routine and a fulltime job. It's not easy (ask Mom, she hears a LOT of the complaining. As do my three very best gals..Stac, Nat & Linds.), but I'm finding peace in letting some things go (like Facebook and the grip of constant social media in...
