Colton Robert Stockment has arrived!

Wednesday, 30 January 2008 Colton Robert Stockment arrived at 5:15 a.m. on January 30, 2008.  He weighed 8 lbs. and 12 oz. and was 21 1/2" long.  Labor and delivery went well (as can be expected) and baby and mom are doing great.  Colten has big feet and long fingers and is absolutely adorable.  Mom can elaborate more when she is able!  (Updated by Grandma Mandy)

Due Date +1

Monday, 28 January 2008 Well, it's official. I'm overdue. Over cooked. Ripe. Ready to go. Look like I could burst. You name it...and that's what I am. But you know what I am most of all, becoming entirely impatient. And, my dear mother, has the nerve to say to me..."Patience if a virtue, practice it often"....I think she's trying to pay me back for the 24 hours that she was in labor with me. I wish I could have been a fly on the wall during hour 20 saying..."Mandy, Patience is a virtue, practice it often".  After all, I am my father's daughter. There's no denying that's where my patience issue comes from. Jason, I think he's the mailman's son, because Brad & Jacki are two of the most laid back people I've ever met in my life. They don't get stirred up over anything. Well...I shouldn't say that, I've seen Jacki riled up a time or two...but still, it was mild compared to Jason and I. Oh well...we...

No baby. Still waiting. IMPATIENTLY.

Tuesday, 22 January 2008 Well, we're now officially 5 days to due date. No baby. No sign of baby wanting to make an appearance either. I've not had any braxton hicks contractions, or what I have had, have been few, and probably often mistaken as gas pains. I'm still trying to determine the difference between the two. People at work say I've dropped, and that's encouraging, I feel like I don't look like I've dropped, but there is increased pressure on my pelvis...it almost hurts to get up if I've been sitting a long time, and that doesn't help my back very much. I go back to the Doctor on Thursday. We'll see what he says then. My biggest struggle at this point is being patient. Jason and I are both bad in that category. Like many have said, we've not even hit our official "due date" yet...so we might still have a ways to go. However, with them telling me at one point it could be the 20th, and then the 27th, how do you ...

No baby, but 10 days to due date!

Wednesday, 16 January 2008 Only 10 more days to our due date. Or perhaps only 4. Depends on which date you use. They originally told us the 27th, then they said the 20th, then they went back to the 27th. Hard telling which is right/wrong...as long as baby comes out happy & healthy...or even just healthy, I'll be happy. (And I wouldn't complain if the bugger is antsy like his or her parents, and comes out soon!!!! We're not patient people, he or she has to be dying to get out into the real world...don't you think?) I'm still feeling good...although, I've got my complaints. My feet/legs are swollen, all the time. And they've ruled out that it could be a complication, it's just a pregnancy symptom. I'm exhausted, even when I do nothing. Sleep...it's a thing of the past with this bladder...I got up 4 times last night, and dear, loving husband of mine, didn't move once. Nor did the dog. Damn boys! But, overall, I don't have...

Holy Holidays!

Well...I've known for a long time, how crazy & hectic this time of year can be. However, I've got a whole new perspective this year. I realize how energy-sucking all this commotion can be at 8 1/2 months pregnant. I can also see where toting around a new baby/toddler/child will be just as energy-sucking. However, this is still my favorite time of year, because family and friends and even strangers are happy. Everyone is looking forward to the vacation, the time off, the food, the gifts, the celebrations...and then, New Year hits. And you have to come back to work. And work full weeks. Not 3 days, not 2 days....5 days. It's a rather tough adjustment. I'm not gonna lie...this week will be hard. But, I must say...it was all worth it. We had an amazing Christmas in our new house, brought in 2008 in a rather low key manner, and got to see many family & friends. We even had time to do some more odds and ends around the house in our days off. Vacation wa...
