Life's Beachy

What a whirlwind month March has been! From the baby reveal to birthday parties (Madi turning 3, Sawyer turning 2 and soon Brad & Debbie!), to Jason working weekend after weekend at his side job, to moving Matt & Sarah into their new home, to Jason getting a new job, to kindergarten round up, to preparing for Florida....whew! Yup, you read that right -- after 14 years with Bouma Betten, Jason is making a jump. He applied for a job with Monsanto in Remington, and was lucky enough to be offered the job just last week. I am so beyond proud of him -- he's not a resume/interview kind of guy, but he put his best foot forward and proved what a hard worker he is. He'll start there as a Seed Tech in mid-April and although it will mean big changes for him (and US!), it will be worth it. The benefits cannot be topped...vacation time, paid time off for sick leave, 401K, health -- all things he didn't have (or did have, but not great) in his current job. It will certainly be a...

Baby Reveal and Lessons Learned

Last week was a fun week for us -- we found out on Thursday the sex of Baby Stockment #3! We invited our parents down for the big "reveal"...aka...us telling the the kids and them indulging us in this fun pinterest inspired idea! :) I'll let the pictures tell the story! The decorated box, full of either pink or blue balloons! The balloons were faster than the camera... It's a BOY!!! Grandma Mandy brought sparkling grape juice to toast with! Most fun part of the evening -- the box! :) After the excitement of Thursday -- we set into a busy, fun-filled weekend! Friday night Jason worked a bit late, so Em and I tackled errands and birthday shopping, while Jason took Colton with him. You could imagine Colton was so excited to "work" with his Dad! Saturday Jason worked from 6am -10pm at a side/part time job he's been blessed with. If you call working 15 hour days a blessing.........  Anyway -- while he worked, we played. Seth & Je...

Sweet Daddy Time

The kids got to hang with Jason last night while I went on a guys night out to the Purdue/Michigan game with Trent, Matt, Dad, Jeff Demerly and a buddy of Trent's from Monsanto. Such a great time -- if only Purdue could have hung on in those final minutes! Great game! Great company! However, when I got home, I noticed that Em's nighlight was on pretty bright, so I went in there first...but no one was in her bed. Hmmm...I thought. Next to Colton's room to kiss him good night and again, no Colton. Hmmm.... When I went into my room, upon inspection I found this. Sweet dreams What a good daddy! Upon trying to cover Em up and sneak off to Colton's bed by myself, I noticed the kids rustling, and Colton about fell out of bed. So I picked him up and put him in his bed with me. He mumbled in his sleep..."Mom, who won?"  He really is a boy after my heart! :) He drifted right back to sleep and Em woke up so proud that she "sleeped in you bed all night long,...
