Our Aweful Beautiful Life

So, I spent an ample amount of time on pinterest last week and stumbled upon this cute idea to interview your kids every 6 months or so, to see how their answers change. It's a great way to log a moment in time and capture what's important to them at the time. I borrowed the idea from this cute little blog, which I stumbled upon via pinterest: Kid Interviews . So...here's my go at my first interview with Colton. I'll be chatting with Em tonight, and hoping to have a few answers from her tomorrow! :) My name is: "Colton" I am "4" years old. The yummiest food to eat is: "Oranges. And eggs & sausage...that's what we had for breakfast, right Mom?" My favorite show to watch is: "Oso. In just over a month, I'll get to be an Aunt again, only this time..it will be the first time I'm an Aunt on the Hall side of the family! I'm still coming to grips with the fact that my BABY brother is going to be a Dad. Should't he still be the X factor on the TCHS boys basketball team? Shouldn't he still be donning tightie-whities while making funny faces on his choo-choo train flannel sheets? Shouldn't he still be slobbering and sucking his thumb? Guess we all grow up eventually, huh? :) Now it will be his own offspring being silly as a 4 year old, and hopefully, dominating the gym at TC -- as long as they don't beat my kids/the Falcons -- I'll be okay with that! :) On Saturday, Mom and I went together to host a shower for Sarah. SUCH a fun day. I love planning these kinds of things, and Sarah was gracious enough to play along with a fun, pinterest inspired idea that I had. We did an ABC themed party, and asked each guest to bring an assigned letter...

I can't believe I didn't do a separate post for this already -- perhaps because I didn't want to jinx myself, but considering she traveled all the way to Minnesota and back without a single accident, I'm calling her 100% POTTY TRAINED. This is awesome news for us -- she feels like such a big girl and can now go potty just like all of the other kids at Pam's! Not to mention - it's opened a whole new world of words for her too....either that, or I'm finally latching on to the fact that my baby...isn't a baby anymore! :( Maybe this will finally give me the leverage needed to talk Jason into Baby Stockment #3! :) Way to go BABY EM! We're so proud of you! You're growing up to be a beautiful little lady!!!

Back in the spring, when my Uncle Ed passed away...we thought it would do Aunt Marsha some good to have some company come fall....and little did we know what good it would do us to get away and spend a wonderful weekend with a wonderful lady! So, on Friday morning, we embarked on a 8 hour drive to Rochester, Minnesota.  The kids are great travelers...both to Alabama (13 hours) and to Minnesota (8 hours) they were great. They slept, played, watched movies and did little to no whining. Even newly potty trained Emmalyn did a great job with the trip! We only stopped a few times, including once at a Fuddruckers for lunch -- what a fun place! Emmalyn - our lady-like traveler. Daddy & Em at Fuddruckers in Janesville, Wisconsin!
