Dad's Fishin, We're playin...and Keaton's ONE!

Last Friday, Jason left for a 5 day/4 night getaway with the guys. The guys being my Dad, Trent, Matt, Uncle Jack, Uncle Marc & Neil. They have been planning for over a year to go on this trip, one reminiscent of the trips my Dad took with Grandpa Hall. I was thankful that Jason was included, though, dreading a bit being home that long with 4 mobile kids by myself. Ready for a fun weekend! It took some work to get it all strapped down! We jumped into a fun weekend with a campout in Mom's room (which proceeded to last all four nights dad was gone, and the night he got home!), then woke up to have blueberry birthday waffles, complete with a big sibiling serendate for KEATON'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!! I'm still reeling at where a year went, and thankful that his party isn't until this coming weekend, so that I can spend one more week thinking he's still my baby! My how time flies... Happy Birthday, Sweet Baby! Excited to be forward facing...he hated r...

2014 White County Fair

On Saturday, Colton woke up just as excited as me, that it was the first day of the county fair!! I'm SO thankful that he loves it as much as I do, and that the countdown to when he can take projects has begun! Though we were at the Fair Saturday evening, and again on Sunday to work with Chicken Fry...I took Tuesday off work to head to the fair with the kiddos, and we added Kendall to our bunch. She's a good friend from Colton's class, and they've grown up at daycare together. She's a great kid, and we had a FUN day!! FFA Petting Zoo They loved the chickens pecking their hands! We even found Aunt Sarah's Extension Homemakers Entries! Colton, Kendall, Chase & Emmalyn on the Combine! They got to walk goats when we visited the Goat Barn! Em ran into friend Gracie from Pam's! Such fun! We watched the pig show for a good portion of the morning...and Jim Humphrey's got to experience Miss Em. They tried ...

Sweet Summertime

I wish I would have known when I made my last post about some mornings being epic, just how truly EPIC the day turned out to be. I mean, afterall, we did start the final day of Colton's Kindergarten year off with a fight over BLACK SOCKS....did I really think my vision of us holding hands, skipping through the school yard, reminiscing on all the great things he did during his first year of "real school", would actually happen?! Some say I hold on to hope...perhaps. Instead of sweet family portraits with our dear little graduate, and hugs and thanks for comings....we had tears, fits, and just overall....YUCK. Mom was near embarassment tears. Grandma was made to feel like the worst grandma for "hurting" Colton when giving him a hug, and overall....all I could think to myself post-cute-graduation ceremony was, "let's get the hell outta here and get this kid a N.A.P."...It was BRUTAL.  It's not even documented anywhere on Facebook, it was THAT bad....
