Colton's First Easter

Colton's first Easter went off without a hitch. He was even in a good mood for the better half of the day. I swear though, this kid knows when we can sleep in, and when we can't. Friday night...he went down at probably 9:30, and slept until 3am, fed, and was back to sleep until 8am. Saturday night, I swear he knew I had to be up early to get everyone around on Sunday...so he didn't go down until 10:45ish, slept til 1:45, was up until 3am, and then back to sleep until 6:30...except I had to be up at 5:30. The kid knows how to mess with my sleep...I'm convinced! So, I got up, got myself ready, got Jason up just as Colton decided he'd finally wake up. I got Colton a bath, and we had our bags packed and were ready for Church by 7:15...off to church at 8am. Colton fell back asleep at 7:30, and didn't wake up at all until 10:30. He slept all through church, through the end of mass when my Dad (who would much rather have Colton awake than sleeping...) d...

Colton's Baptism

Well, we survived. Sort of. Colton did great this weekend...Mom & Dad...we're both wiped out! HA :) After spending Saturday afternoon getting our house into tip-top shape (and Jason realize just how MUCH house there is to clean now...), we picked Colton up from Grandmas and headed to Lafayette to get a few last minute party items, and to get Jason a shirt that fit. I swear, everytime I think I know his dress shirt size, I always buy the wrong one! We got home about 9ish, and by the time we got home, Colton decided he'd like to be up for awhile. Finally, about 10:30, Jason sent me to bed, and said he'd put him down. I finally had the chance to get some sleep...early. Except, knowing that I was hosting a houseful the next day, my mind was racing, and I didn't fall asleep until after he put Colton down and had passed out himself, probably sometime between 11:30 and 12! UGH! I was up at 5:30 on Sunday to get myself around, and then help the boys get aro...

A weekend of fun!

I can't believe it's the weekend already. That means that I now officially only have 2 weeks of maternity leave left. And to top it off, I checked my work email yesterday to find out that I have a site visit with a new client of mine from 10am-1pm on my first day back. That's nice...so when I come in looking like a member of  KISS, because I've cried myself to work having dropped my baby at the sitters for the first time, I can make a lasting first impression. I mean seriously, can I not come in for a DAY and catch my breath? Ridiculous. It's a big weekend for us. Colton gets baptized on Sunday. I'm excited, as he'll be wearing the same outfit my dad wore when he was batized nearly 50 years ago! Trent & Matt wore it too, so it's pretty cool. Trent will be Colton's Godfather, and I think he's pretty excited. We're doing the baptism up in Remington, so there will be a lot of running around, as we're having everyone back ...

A world of smiles...

A baby changes everything. As a  little girl, I dreamt of one day meeting my prince charming, getting married, and settling down to raise a family, just like my mom. Every girl dreams this dream at some point in their life, and I've been lucky enough to live out that dream...I met my prince charming (okay, or my prince of the outdoors who loves to hunt and chase animals and do outdoorsy things, but is still occasionally romantic...I can handle occasionally...). We had a dream wedding, and on January 30th, we brought that love full circle when Colton was born. Don't get me wrong, from day one, I felt a love like I've never felt before. When they first laid Colton in my arms, I was in awe. He was so tiny and precious and dependant on us. And still is. Then we came home, and I began to second guess our decisions -- not in the "I wish we never had a baby" way, but in the "are we sure we can handle this?" "am I going to be a good enough M...

Whirlwind Weekend!

What a great weekend! First of all, the weather was amazing...I'm officially ready for the snow to go away, and the warmer spring air to make it's official arrival, and stay. I have a feeling though, there's more snow to come before we get to keep the warmer weather! Friday night, we went up to Grandpa & Grandma Stockment's for a visit - we got carryout fish dinners from the Church Fish Fry and had a nice visit, and meal. The fish was great. Saturday Jason vowed to give us the whole weekend...I made him promise to not talk about hunting, but of course that lasted until maybe 9:30am on Saturday! HA We worked around the house cleaning up, then loaded up Colton and headed  to Lafayette to run a few errands. We decided to get some 1 month pictures taken at Penney's. Although it took all afternoon, Colton did great, and we got some neat shots! I was happy with the way they turned out. Jason was disappointed, because he said his eyes are closed in all...
