Wow. 5 years. Where does the time go? Happy Birthday, sweet boy. You are growing and changing every day. You asked me last night, "on your last night of EVER being 4", if you'd look different tomorrow, when you were 5. Well, we looked in the mirror this morning and I still saw a sweet, sweet baby boy, growing too fast before my eyes. You saw a you that was suddenly, "as tall as Kendall because she's 5, and taller than Maverick, because he's only 4". Birthday Breakfast of Champions! Here's a quick recap of Colton's Boiler Up! We've kicked off the new year in a pretty low-key fashion. Jason's taking advantage of the quiet weekends to put in some overtime to save up for our upcoming trip to Florida, so the kids and I have kept busy. This past weekend, we spent the morning getting Colton's 5 year old pictures taken -- FIVE YEARS OLD. Good grief where did that time go? Emmalyn was even a sport and donned her new Purdue Cheerleader outfit to do a Purdue picture for Momma! :) Then we shipped her off to spend the afternoon with Aunt Nina while Colton and I hit up the Purdue Men's basketball game. Such a fun afternoon with my family. We wrapped the evening with dinner, and then home to snuggle up to Daddy for the rest of the evening. Me & Colton -- BOILER UP!! We got premium seats for the 2nd half -- and it was AWESOME! Colton got to hang with his buddy Clayton, which was more thrilling for him than the game!  Sunday was belated Christmas with the Hancock side. My uncle had ope...

I know, I still have blogged about Christmas. I will. I promise...but it's so picture heavy & information heavy, it's kind of daunting. And today, I feel nostalgic, so instead of highlighting and event in our lives, I'm going to highlight two events that changed our worlds forever. I just wanted to jot down some memories here, because it's amazing what you forget in the everyday hecticness of "life". So...here goes. Colton, I will never forget:   ... the day you were born.  Or should I say the day I went into labor...because technically, you came the next morning. The way the weather went from 70's and sunny, to rain/thunderstorms (in January) to snowing and blizzard/white out....while we were driving to the hospital.  ...the way your Dad beamed with pride when holding you for the first time. Even in the haze of having just pushed out a 8lb 12 oz baby boy -- we were both smitten. From the very beginning. ...the way you seemed to do everything ea...
