Our Aweful Beautiful Life

We had a pretty fun weekend. A long weekend for me, but not for Jason, actually, quite the opposite for Jason, since he worked both Saturday & Sunday. Occasionally his company will get a job down at Frito Lay, and they have to work on a shut down weekend, so the plant is closed, but they get to go in and do their thing. It's good overtime pay, and job security I guess, but it stinks to have him gone all weekend! We made up for it by keeping plenty busy on our own! Friday night we went on a "mommy & me" date with Aunt Jess & Meredith. We took the kids to Cookie Cutters - a place designed specifically for young kids to get their hair cut! I'm not sure we'll ever go back, it's kind of expensive, and they just did a so-so job, but it was fun once. Here are a few snapshots of the kids getting their cuts! It's really genius, because they keep the kids so engaged, that they don't realize they are even getting hair cuts...and honestl...

Okay, so I'd not been paying attention obviously, the last 1000 times I've been at Mom and Dad's, but as we drove out last night, I realize that off in the far distance, I could see the wind towers that were recently built in Benton County. Yeah, I said Benton County. Fowler Area. Regardless, because we were basically out screwing around, we kind of took a road trip over to see them. They are all anyone's talking about around home right now, because this summer (or next week) they are coming to White County...basically in Mom & Dad's back yard. So, I thought I'd post some pictures. I didn't know what my personal take was on it...when I first saw them. I'm intrigued by them, because they are huge and kind of neat to look at, but in the same sense, it really breaks up the beautiful countryside with a very industrial look. So, I don't know, I'll let you form your own opinion, but this just amazed me -- guess we'll know more by...

Well, we can finally say we've had some awesome weather here in Indiana, and I couldn't be happier about that. I'm so ready to springtime, and I'm totally over winter, although, winter months always seem to go by the fastest! HA We've been keeping mildly busy, but not horrible. We're getting ready to run into a string of 1st birthdays, which is going to be fun. It's so fun being good friends with parents of kids who will likely be classmates to Colton. No spring break plans in our future...now that we're real worlders, and Colton's not in school, we basically don't get a spring break, although, I'm really, really in the mood for a vacation! (Aren't we all!!) It's hard to not just up and plan one too, with them constantly advertising cheap flights and deals here and deals there. However, we stay grounded and realize that we could better spend our money, and that we should be saving what we can. So, in favor of not going o...

We survived yet another crazy weekend. It was kind of funny, as Jason and I visited this weekend, we learned that he hadn't slept in his own bed at home in three weekends in a row! Valentines day we both stayed at a hotel in Lafayette...a Christmas Gift to each of us coordinators from the Holiday Inn - then last weekend we took Jacob and a buddy (Levi) down to Indy to the Holiday Inn with the Caribbean Cove Water park in it -- again, something I won through work! Kind of fun huh? We had a really good time last weekend, and although I was a nervous wreck about taking Colton into the water now that he's a walker -- we did just fine. I did go to the extreme of buying him this basically wet-suit that had floaties in the chest/back area -- but it's still enough too big, that he just looked like a giant goon in it, so as quickly as we put it on, it came back off....and it wasn't a quick process! :) Jacob & Levi had a lot of fun, chasing girls and trying to ...
