Fall Field Trips

Fall also means, typically, a lot of field trips with the kids school. At least one each -- and I swear all we do at Frontier, is study the pioneers. At least these are the only field trips I've gone on! HA :) Em was first -and it was the classic 3rd grade field trip. 2 down, 1 to go -- and if Monsoon is still leading that damn trip, I might lose my mind. He's an INTERESTING character. That said, we had a fun day, with good weather. We made candles, pioneer foods, pet different animal pelts, sat in a school setting from the 1800's and built a log cabin out of logs we skinned. They even got to fish with cane poles....and thanks to George Govert...Em finally caught a fish!  It was a fun day! Emmalyn was an adorable.....dunce! Also keeping with tradition -- Colton's fieldtrip I attended was....WET. Like, rained all day. AGAIN. We did this at Connor Prairie, and now at Feast of the Hunters Moon. It rained so hard this year that there was a bus (not ours) that got...

How Embarassing...

Gang, it's fair to say that 2018 has KICKED MY BUTT. Kicked all of our butts. You guys - looking back at the number of posts over the past 11 years of this blog, I see double digits in every.single.year but this one. And yes, it's not over yet....but we're a lot closer to the end than we are the begging and SO MUCH has happened this year worth noting. I've got some catching up to do or the 2018 book is going to literally have 7 pages. So, bear with me, or maybe I should say welcome inside my brain. I'm going to try my best to recall some things that have happened this year, and key on the big moments! Kids - I do this blog for you. I want  you to be able to look back on the wonderful memories we've made through the years. We've made some good ones. Dad and I are so thankful for the days we share, and while some of them hard, so many of them are wonderful. Thanks for bearing with me as I sludge through this blog in this crazy, chaotic, busy, and blessed ...

Back to School Round 2....

It wasn't until after Labor Day that Keaton go to go back to school. While he didn't like having to wait past when the bigs went back, he was super excited when his day came. Not only because he loves school, but also because he's BMOC (Big Man on Campus) now as a prek kid. Also, he's literally like, BMOC -- because he stands a solid head over anyone else in his class. It's a new year with new teachers, so that's new and exciting too. Also, yes, you dressed yourself for your first day. Momma didn't touch that with a 10 ft pole and Dad, he wasn't thrilled! HAHA September also held some other fun events like Sunday football games, Volleyball camp for Emmalyn, and a fun (turned not so fun) birthday part for our Godson/Nephew George. We rounded out September by taking our million dollar child into the dentist to see what was up with the abscess around her hurting tooth. We noticed it camping in late-August, and finally got the diagnosis....
