Fun Fotos

Summer has been busy - here's some photo proof! We have been sleepy, silly, been to "camp" with Andrew Luck and Purdue Pete, had a girl cousins sleepover, and ATTEMPTED to keep Keaton out of trouble. And the liquor cabinet! 😉

Out of the mouths of babes...

I've done this kind of post before, but it's so fun, let's do it again! Emmalyn: "No mom, seriously...." "Hey, mom, it's like I'm showing a horse dog!" --while walking goats at the fair "Oh MY GOSH, my hair is full of rats today!" Colton: "Mom, literally, I had no idea"....who taught him literally?  Also, anything black socks related. Stupid. Flipping. Tall. Black. Socks!! This is a daily battle! Keaton: Keaton's got a language all his own these days, as he learns to talk! Let's break it down- "Coco" - Colton "Dissy" - Sissy/Emmalyn  "Bobby/bubby" - his blanket "Nanners" - banana "Gink" - drink "Ppppeeeeesssseeee" -please "Boom boom" - tractors "Bombine" - combine There are so many more that I'm sure I'm forgetting! I'll update this as I remember more!  You kids keep us on our...

It's that time of year!

I can safely say Fair week is one of my favorite weeks of the year. I can now also confidently say it's one of my kiddos favorite weeks of the year too! This makes my heart swell with joy! Every morning since Saturday they have been waking at 6:30, and asking on repeat, "when are we going to the fair?", "can I wear jeans, my good boots and a tank top to the fair tonight?"...and this morning, "I'm going to wear my fair clothes to Pam's, just in case we don't have time to come home and change!"....and this was all from Colton, my fashionista! It's been a bit different this year, as it's my 2nd year on the Ag Association, but first year to run lead on the Commercial Vendor Committee. Overall, I think we have done some good things, but there is always room for improvement!  Another big change in our yearly agenda, was that Jason had lasik eye surgery onThursday  of last week, and has been in recovery since. This means not only was I hel...

Punta Cana

In a little over a week, Jason and I will have crossed that 10 years mark. 10 years ago we walked down the aisle at Sacred Heart, said our vows before family and friends, and I even let Jason spill his beam & coke down the front of my gown, because, well as he put it, "it's all about the party". And boy, have the last 10 years been a party. There have been highs and lows, good times and bad, sickness and health....but like we said that beautiful July 30th 10 years ago....we do. We have stuck together, grown from our mistakes, learned from each other and fallen into a deeper love than we knew existed. We've brought 3 beautiful children into this world, we've raised a puppy and sadly watched him go on to doggy heaven, we've lost loved ones, and welcomed nieces, nephews and lots of friends babies into this world. We've made new friends, bought a piece of the family farm, shipped (almost) two kids off to school, and started raising cattle on o...

All Star Baseball

After closing out a successful regular season, Colton was asked to play on the 2015 Frontier Pinto All-Star team! What an honor for him, and what fun to extend his season! It's a great bunch of kids, and he's really enjoying it! After two weeks of practicing hard and learning all kinds of different positions, the kids kicked off their first tourney last night with a double header. The first game was awesome -- all the kids had great hits, made great defensive plays and just gelled really well together as a team. They beat a West Side team 17-2. Great way to kick off the tourney. I think the sticky heat & long evening got to them in game two -- as they faced a tough, fresh East Tipp team. Still had some great hits, and played well, but eventually lost to ET. More than the baseball, I've truly enjoyed watching these boys interact, cheer for one another and become best of friends. These are where memories are made for a lifetime, and I'm beyond thankful God has p...

Emmy Margaret turns FIVE!

When Frozen came out, it took the nation into it's arms, and hugged little want to be princesses everywhere. We were late to the ballgame. We didn't see Frozen in theatres, let alone that winter. We didn't know the songs, we didn't get the hype. Finally, late summer 2014...we decided to see what the hype was about. With that one simple curious movie rental, we welcomed Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven & Christoph into our home...........and they haven't left since! When it came time for Em to choose her birthday theme for her 5th birthday party, it was a no brainer. EVERYONE was having a Frozen birthday, and we would not be left out of this phenomenon. So, when I saw paper goods at Kohl's on a Black Friday deal, and had a 30% coupon, I stocked up....and tucked them away for that special day in June. I'm pretty sure Queen Elsa was actually AT Emmalyn's party this year...because it was a whoppin 50 some degrees that June 1st! A Frozen Birthday, in deed! :) We...
