Our Aweful Beautiful Life

October is always one of our favorite months of the year. In addition to sports, school, etc -- it's harvest time and there isn't a one of the five of us who doesn't love a good day at the farm. It's good for our souls!!    Harvest 19 was a trying one. Lots of accidents, break downs, weather.....it was a long time. But, we survived it. We found joy in it. And we celebrated when it was done!! It's not "our" farm, but it will always be our farm, because the ones we love most tend that ground.  This October was a little different than the past ones -- as I traveled for work to the 2019 Pest Conference in San Diego, California. Overall, I welcomed the time away, though, by day 3, I was ready to be home with my family. It's always nice to get away, for a bit.....but then it's time to reconnect. I will say though, San Diego was beautiful and the weather was second to none. I could get used to those temps in October! I was thankful for a good travel partn...

** Sidenote - I am writing this on 11/19/2020.....Aren't I cute -- I thought I'd try to wrap up this blog a little at a time by adding some key topics to a post, then coming back and filling it in a little at a time. What's REALLY cute is that I thought 2019 was a blur. 2019 was CUTE compared to 2020. But alas, I shall try to remember clearly September of 2019 for the sake of keeping this puppy going......because believe it or not -- those books I get printed each year -- mean more than you kids will ever know! ** Colton played on the middle school football team which turned out to be a challenge of a year. He personally did well -- but the transition from Little GridIron to Jr. High Football was a test. Especially as a 6th grader, where puberty hadn't really happened for a lot of our boys vs. teams of fully grown 8th graders. Quite the span. But, as always -- we cheered for our boy and were so glad we could!  Another September highlight was spending the day with Bob ...
