October

October is always one of our favorite months of the year. In addition to sports, school, etc -- it's harvest time and there isn't a one of the five of us who doesn't love a good day at the farm. It's good for our souls!!

Harvest 19 was a trying one. Lots of accidents, break downs, weather.....it was a long time. But, we survived it. We found joy in it. And we celebrated when it was done!! It's not "our" farm, but it will always be our farm, because the ones we love most tend that ground.

This October was a little different than the past ones -- as I traveled for work to the 2019 Pest Conference in San Diego, California. Overall, I welcomed the time away, though, by day 3, I was ready to be home with my family. It's always nice to get away, for a bit.....but then it's time to reconnect. I will say though, San Diego was beautiful and the weather was second to none. I could get used to those temps in October! I was thankful for a good travel partner, a fun conference and some great sight seeing. There was certainly a lot of time for checking out the city!

I always miss things of course, while I'm away and this trip was no different. I missed Colton's final football game of his 6th grade year, and Em's field trip. Thankful for good friends who grab last game pictures and Grandma's who step in to fill Mom's shoes!

October turned magical at the end of the month, when Jason and Emmalyn attended their first ever Daddy Daughter Dance. I was able to be a part of the planning committee, so got to attend and witness it all first hand, which, was a blessing because watching Daddy love on his baby girl was super fun. We chose a dress and matching shoes, she picked out Dad's outfit, we did hair and make up. She buttoned Dad's cuffs, and he surprised Emmalyn with a floral corsage. It was adorable. They danced the night away, both together and Emmalyn, you with your friends. It was a great evening and one I'm so thankful they could share together. There's truly something special about being Daddy's little girl!

And to wrap up the month, we went from beauties to bitties......Halloween was a fun one filled with group outfits! We hit up Trunk or Treat at the elementary and then Grandma & Grandpa Hall's to see Hall cousins, before ending up at Grandma Jacki & Grandpa Brad's to walk the neighborhood! We popped in to visit Grandma Pat too!  It was a super fun few days!

Random Fall fun!

Get Well Soon, Grandpa Kent

Here's the best way to share Dad's video. Thank you all so much for submitting the clips. This really made him smile (and say some funny things the first time we watched soon after anesthesia). I think it will be treasured company this evening in the hospital. Thank you for your prayers, your thoughts, for answering the phone calls and lifting Dad up. We appreciate all your love and support.  58E2238E-D2E3-4B38-9FF6-AE1E502ABD14.mp4

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

April - Hey Batter, Batter...

April is always the month that makes us think spring is FINALLY here, because it's starting to warm up, suns starting to shine more, except when we finally get to the baseball/softball fields, it's just as cold as it was in February. Thankfully, Emmalyn had an indoor sport to carry us through the cold of the month, until baseball/softball really got kicked off! Emmalyn tried something new this year and participated in CiVic vollebyall. This is a club program out of Carroll County, and she practiced every Sunday from January through April. Finally in late April she had three play dates. One Saturday we played up at Fairmount, IN. Grandma Jacki, Keaton and I went with Emmalyn, while Dad, Grandpa and Colton cut down some trees in preparation for our spring projects. Emmalyn and Mae Ella did a wonderful job for their team, both rocked their serving and seemed to know the game and keep their cool better than some on the team. The second weekend Dad, Em & Mom traveled to Triton H...
