So April's fun, because it's my birthday month, and we see the end of the school year coming, and baseball is kicking off, and it's finally warming up........and then MAY hits. And honestly, by the time I even really realize it's actually May..........it's June. 11th. I'm not even kidding when I say May stinks, and I have absolutely zero memories from the month. Okay, I do, but only thanks to cameras and photos. Don't get me wrong, we had a LOT of fun in May, but it came and it went and now it's June, and I'm already dreading that summer will fly by as fast as May did.
So let's recap May. Shall we?
The first week alone had 2 field trips & a Mom's day at school. I was blessed to take the time off work to enjoy each of the field trips with the kiddos. First up was Emmalyn and her preschool class to the Columbian Park Zoo. Highlights? Mom getting peed on by the tree-frog in the classroom animal meet & greet, but the "educator" saying, "oh, don't worry, that's just water". She must have thought I was 4 too! :( We got a good laugh out of that. It was a quick field trip, complete with a ride on the train. We left the zoo, and grabbed a quick ice cream treat from Frozen Custard, then back to my office for the day. Emmalyn was in heaven being the center of attention at my office! What a special day to share with her....I keep asking her to stop growing. She says no. I don't get it...I could keep her this age (minus the whining) for a long time. So sweet!
Thursday was a trip to Fair Oaks with the 1st grade class. Again, so fun to share this day with Colton. We have been a number of times, but it's always fun to go back and see what's new. Plus, I LOVE watching the kids interact with their classmates, perhaps more than the field trip itself. I got some good Mom-to-Mom time in too, on the car ride up following the bus! A super day, and our first experience with Fair Oaks Ice Cream. WORTH the hype!
Of course, we couldn't end a busy fieldtrip day in May without a ball game too -- thankfully, Keaton's a real ladies man...and finding someone to play with him isn't too tough!
What can I say...it was a BIG Thursday for these two....
Friday morning was Memories with Mom in Colton's classroom...and he did perfect. He even sang the cute song to me!
Of course, a plus of the month of May, is Mother's day -- and how blessed I am to carry that title. These three little bundles of energy and chaos bless me beyond measure. We had a great day -- brunch with the Stockment's and steak and fabulous potato casserole by Uncle Matt, with the Hall Family!
We found some down time here and there...and were able to actually enjoy life at home. Mostly late on a Saturday afternoon or of an evening...but we had some fun too. Mushroom hunting in the rain, and a water table for.....big kids? Em didn't seem to understand the water table was not a Pool! :)
We spent Memorial Day weekend camping which was a total blast, and very relaxing...even though we did a lot of running with ball games, wedding, etc. The weather was PERFECT for the Splash Pad they had there...all the kids enjoyed it! Even Keaton!
We rounded out the month with 9 straight nights of activities, including Emmalyn's graduation from Preschool! So hard to believe this little beauty will head off to Kindergarten in the fall!!
So you see....thank GOD for pictures and memories. May was a BUSY one....but we had a lot of fun! Guess what...it's June 11th, and then fun hasn't stopped yet!!

Mostly, May was filled with a LOT of baseball and t-ball and late nights.
Dinner at 8pm wasn't out of the question, and signing the May reading log...........................................we were lucky to get the reading log back in the folder, let alone signed. It was nuts!! And though Keaton's typically a good sleeper....the later he was up, the more we fought him at bedtime in May. Really though....how do you deny that look....and those vrroom vrroomm sounds....he's a real farmer at heart!
