April

April brought some new adventures for our kids. Mrs. Cook, the Ag teacher, offered for 3rd through 6th graders to join the Livestock judging team this year. Our kids jumped on board and each Tuesday and Thursday would ride the bus to the high school for practices. In April, they had their only competition and it was a great experience for them. They got an excused day out of school and enjoyed learning about the different breeds and species of animals.

Jason and I broke away in the middle of the month on a special invitation for the maiden voyage of the Madam Carroll after new owners took over and Jason delivered some new materials as they updated the boat. It's always a great time, but we were nervous about the weather in April. It turned out to be a great evening with beautiful weather.

Our baby lost his first tooth this month too. While he tried and tried to pull it himself, it took a little coaxing from his brother to actually get it out. The anticipation of the pain was making him nervous to Colton offered to pull it and the video we got of him doing that is priceless! :)

April also brought Easter fun. We traveled to Hall side for mass and breakfast and then to the Stockment side for late afternoon fun. We were lucky to have gorgeous weather for being outside...it was a beautiful day.

And last but not least, April's the month that officially kicks off baseball chaos. We love watching our kiddos play ball, but the days sure do go fast chasing them all here there and yonder! Emmalyn played for the cadet softball team and had a great group of girls. She again stepped in as catcher and her resilience always amazes us. She even got just a bit quicker behind the plate.

Keaton got to play his first year of 6U baseball. We weren't sure what this would be like, but it was a mix of tball and 8u. The first few games were very much tball games, but as the year went along, they began striking out, calling 3 fouls, etc. Keaton is doing a great job, and loves having Miss Shaina (preschool teacher) as one of his coaches.

Colton jumped into a new adventure this year and tried out for a semi-travel leaugue headed up by Luke Mansfield and Chad Brown. We are looking forward to a great experience -- but it's gotten off to a slow start due to the rainy spring we had. It's a great group of kids, who have such great chemistry. Colton's excited that they are playing him at catcher some -- a new opportunity for him. Anxious to watch this new adventure unfold.

And of course - some random April fun! :)

I always, ALWAYS hated leaving you kids at Pammy's crying and clinging to me.....but love that our Pammy would send e these pictures moments after I've left to let me know it's al gonna be okay! :)
