Some days, are just epic. Like today. We should be all sunshine & smiles today, as its the last day of school and Colton's graduating Kindergarten and let's just hold hands and frolic through the soft summer grass.....right? WRONG.
So. Apparently, I’m the worst Mom in the world, because I
wouldn’t let Colton wear tall black socks
today with his kahki shorts &
polo shirt for Kindergarten Graduation. In fact, I was quite ridiculous thinking he should wear his cute
summer church shoes (the canvas like ones), because…
1.) They are too big. "When I
run, they don’t even stay on … see?!" (While showing me and sobbing,
simultaneously….insert BIG dramatics here, to make sure that the shoe not only
comes off, but flies across the room while running)
2.) "They give me rashes, right
here. They are way too big mom. You don’t even care!!"
3.) I never, NEVER let him do
anything he wants. I don’t care about him and I never let him do anything fun.
(News to me, I thought he had a good time when we went bowling, hiking,
skating, to the park, on vacation, on a walk in the woods, to the creek, etc, etc, etc….)
4.) "Mom, if I wear these shoes,
I won’t even be able to play kickball at my last recess."
I replied - "So take them off."
"I
can’t. I can’t take my shoes off. What if we have an emergency fire drill and I
don’t have shoes on?!?!"
THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES……
