We moved in!

Well, on the busiest weekend we've had here lately, we chose to move in. But we did it. Friday night we had the Maxwell Wedding Rehearsal, Saturday we had the Maxwell Wedding, Sunday we went to church, Jason to the house, me to Mom & Dad's to pack up our stuff, and then the whirlwind began. I took a Vous full of boxes, luggage, crap to the house, and Mom followed close behind with the rest of the stuff. Well, I should say more stuff...because we've already exchanged a few emails this morning with a list of things we've forgot there! Dropped that off, left at 1:15pm for my first baby shower, did that at 2:15-4:30....the Hall side, VERY fun, and so many neat things. Now I'm really getting excited. It's all becoming more and more real! (8 weeks to baby by the way). It was great to be with family all afternoon, and it really meant a lot to me to have Gram Hall there. I think she enjoyed it, although, she assured me she'd get in a good nap when she got back!! Back to the house by 5pm, and immediately through the door...Jason asks -- "Okay, where do you want things"....we unpacked all the baby goodies to the nursery, and then started in other other boxes laying around. Finally, about 7:30, after Brad & Jacki, John & Jess all went home...we started to slow down. At 8:30...I had to call it quits. We were both hungry, and my feet were about to explode.

As we ate supper, and watched the big screen TC (CARS, the movie since we don't have dish or direct yet...) we kept asking each other "What was that", "Did you hear that?"  We chalked it up to a windy night, and getting used to a new house and it's sounds.

Regardless, what a relief to have moved into our own place. We'll keep working on it, and little by little, get things put back together. Much thanks goes out to anyone and everyone who helped us along the way. We owe several people pretty big...but are more than welcome to return the favor when the time comes.

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

 Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

Central Indiana Winter Spectacular

 We kicked off show season with this set of calves in mid-January at the Central Indiana Winter Spectacular, a first time show down in Cloverdale, Indiana. I'm not sure what was more fun - being with our kids and friends at a cattle show, or listening to our kids meddle over the thought of staying in a Motel 6.  (Backstory on this one -- when I worked at Purdue/in the Conference division, I held a few conference at The Hyatt in downtown Indianapolis. When I had events there, I'd earn points. We then would use those points for free night stays....I think I had maybe 15 or so over the years. So, the only hotel my kids know, is a Hyatt, because unbeknownst to them, it was FREE.....which is the ONLY reason we stayed in such a nice place with young kids. So, imagine their dismay when the Motel 6 in Cloverdale didn't have an Eagles Nest rotating up top, or an indoor pool and hot tub/workout area.
