So hard to believe how quickly three years has passed. Emmalyn enjoyed a birthday weekend this year, rather than just a day! She was spoiled and blessed and we had a great time.
Friday night we didn't have anything planned, which was glorious. I'm fairly certain that was the first free Friday night we've had since the end of April. Life has been on the MOVE lately. We stayed home and enjoyed a quiet night.
Saturday, Jason was asked to work some overtime, so although that was awesome, it stunk to have him gone all day. The kids and I made the most of our day -- we started with Birthday Pancakes for Em.
Then played upstairs for a bit...Em played babies and I promised Colton we could do some carpet farming.
We had a baby shower for Jason's cousin Kensie at 1pm, so about noon, I loaded the kids up and we headed to Klein Brot Haus to enjoy a free cookie Colton had earned from doing his book log at Preschool. Who doesn't eat cookies for lunch?
After the shower, we all three took naps, while waiting for Jason to come home from work. Once home, he wanted to do something special/fun with Emmalyn for her birthday, so we packed up and headed out to Indiana Beach, hoping to avoid any rain in the forecast. The kids really enjoyed the park, while Jason and I both thought to ourselves how dirty it was. Although, it's likely always been a "dirty" park, and we never noticed as kids. Sometimes I wish we saw more of life through a child's eye. Regardless, we got in free because of the impending rain and the kids had a great time.
We finally decided to eat "off-park" and hit Esmerelda's on the way back to Brookston. Fun for the kids that they served breakfast all day long -- so Em started and ended her day with Pancakes...only this time, a Minnie Mouse pancake!
Both kids thought that was fun, but not NEAR as fun as the panacookin in Minnesota!
Sunday was church, then home to prepare for the Minnie Mouse picnic. Such a great afternoon, although, who would have thought we'd be wearing sweatshirts & blankets (while the kids pranced around in shorts/tee-shirts) on June 2nd!!! Such a fun afternoon. We are so blessed with great family. Em was one blessed little girl!

| She loved eating her cake as much as she did the singing and picture taking! :) |
Both kids had a great time playing with their cousins and Colton certainly wore himself out. He offered to chill on the chair at the end of the night and 10 minutes later, this is how we found him...
Birthday fun was had by all! :) Happy Birthday sweet girl. Mom, Dad & Bub love you VERY much!
