This hashtag has been applied to most of my social media posts lately, and it's not lie.......Fall definitely IS my favorite season. Warm days. Cool nights. Nights on the farm. Full Saturdays and Sundays on the farm. Combine rides. Tractor rides. Semi Rides. We added Fall Baseball to the agenda this fall, and potty training....so to say it's been anything but eventful in our life lately is a lie. But our hearts are so full.
A few Saturday's ago, I was woken at 7:30am, with Colton in my face saying, "Mom, um, I woke up and saw that it was light out, and figured out it was Saturday, and then realized it was going to be the best day of my life, because we get to go farming today!"................BE. STILL. MY. HEART. I absolutely LOVE the passion my children have for agriculture. How blessed we are to know this life.
And farm we did....from lunch on the end rows, sitting on blankets, to playing in the beans, to watching beans fall out of Em's pants as she prepared to roadside pee. It was a perfect Saturday, spent with some of my favorite people.
Jason and I are trying out a new diet....low carb/high fat......which has been fairly easy, minus the sweets we can't eat. I died when he sent this text of Emmalyn riding with him, noshing on a nutty bar....while he thought about the tasty peppers & celery he had at lunch!
That Sundday we wound up at the farm again -- to help close the pool up for summer. Always a sad time, because we have lots of fun Grandpa & Grandma's pool, but extra special this year when we got to take one last swim to clean out leaves before closing it up!
Aunt Sarah and the kids picked apples while we put the winter cover on! YUMMY FRESH APPLES!
We ended the day, a beautiful one at that, with a 4-wheeler ride....not often that Mom gets behind the wheel!
So, I mentioned we added to our fall fun with Fall Baseball this year. Honestly, cannot beat the best sport in the world played under this backdrop....can you?
Okay, MAYBE the homerun, triple, snag catch at pitcher and play at first base were right up there too! GREAT GAME FRONTIER! So fun watching these boys grow and learn....they are developing into great young men and baseball players!
Oh, and potty training. My favorite story of all time is when I was young, naive mother of one was that I would tell Pam when to start training Colton. She blew me off, and initially, I was kind of pissed about that. Two weeks later, when SHE said he was ready, bring her undies....wouldn't you know...2 days later the kid was trained! So, imagine my surprise when Pam texted me, "What do you think about potty training Keaton? Want to bring me undies next week?"....GAME ON.
Except, silly me, once again, thought that Keaton would do things just as Colton and Emmalyn had...quick & easy. YA RIGHT. Not this child. No way. He's proving to be more of a challenge in the ole' potty training department, but we're making slow progress! At least he's gone on the toilet a few times. And in his undies a few times. And outside once. That's progress, right? You can't really tell, but in the first picture....we were buying more undies for home at Family Dollar....and it wasn't until this exact moment that I a.) realized Pam sent him home in undies or b.) that he'd pee'd his pants in the car, and was not strutting around FD in wet clothes. #winning #momoftheyear #oops
And to finish...a few random photos of the past few weeks! #fallisALLofourfavorites
We tried to trick Trent into thinking K&M Farms was Kim & Matt Farms....he wasn't buying it.
Fun sleepover for Emmalyn & Annabelle! Such girls...playing school!
So proud of Colton....he's rocking 2nd grade!
Love these two sweet nappers! We had a BIG weekend last weekend and all 5 got naps! WOOT for that!
Emmalyn .... you are one of a kind, child...and I wouldn't have you any other way!
