The rest of the year.....

Post Christmas things slowed down a bit...but we still found ways to have fun. We were nothing but LAZY the day after Christmas....which was wonderful since it was pouring buckets of rain and really windy. By 4pm, we'd had enough.....and Jason has schemed a plan to finally buy the coyote caller he'd had his eye on. So, we cleaned up, used Outback giftcards for a family date, and made our Christmas returns. In the rain. With three kids. Call us crazy, but it was a great night together!

I'll let our pictures tell the story of the rest of our break. Malone's Gym with friends, ice cream in the new ice cream maker Patricia (boss) got me, girls night in with Stac, Nat, Keng & kiddos....and Jason and Kent! A shopping day for Me & Momma, a trip to Valpo to exchange our boots and an overnight with Mamps & Paps, and then finally ....NYE 2106.





New Years Eve was...................................chaotic fun! We kicked off the day with bowling at Aulby's, then landed at Maxwells for food, fun, games & laughs. It was a great evening with a fun group of friends!




And the minute to win it games were a huge success turned total comedic relief. Isn't my NYE date HANDSOME!?!

We saddled up (tiredly) on NY Day and joined my sibs for a Christmas gift/day out. We have stopped doing gifts, but instead do an "event" together. Last year we did the casino & lunch, and Bailey's discount store. It was a hit, so we did it again this year and welcome Trent's new girlfriend Stefani along for the trip! So much fun!  We even only lost $40! HA Victory!?!



We rounded out Christmas break with the flu bug, only half of us going to the Purdue game we got the kids tickets to for Christmas (thanks flu bug) and wrapping up a Kindergarten 100 days project, not once, but twice. These are the days of our lives.....


We so enjoyed these past two weeks off....well, I did...and the kids did. But I think it's safe to say, we will ALL be happy when school starts back up on Tuesday!

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

 Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

April - Hey Batter, Batter...

April is always the month that makes us think spring is FINALLY here, because it's starting to warm up, suns starting to shine more, except when we finally get to the baseball/softball fields, it's just as cold as it was in February. Thankfully, Emmalyn had an indoor sport to carry us through the cold of the month, until baseball/softball really got kicked off! Emmalyn tried something new this year and participated in CiVic vollebyall. This is a club program out of Carroll County, and she practiced every Sunday from January through April. Finally in late April she had three play dates. One Saturday we played up at Fairmount, IN. Grandma Jacki, Keaton and I went with Emmalyn, while Dad, Grandpa and Colton cut down some trees in preparation for our spring projects. Emmalyn and Mae Ella did a wonderful job for their team, both rocked their serving and seemed to know the game and keep their cool better than some on the team.
