My little eater...

I'm learning that Colton loves food. Let's face it...he gets that honest! His Dad and I are both pretty good eaters...not that that is something I typically like to brag about. However, when raising a child, it's a pretty good compliment to know that Colton has a wide variety of tastes and that he will try about anything, and by anything, I mean meats, fruits, vegetables, dog food, string, paper, beer cans, etc. I think you get the picture. Therefore, I shouldn't be surprised or as amused as I am that he enjoyed salad last night at dinner. I had fixed a salad for Jason and I, and I thought, let's experiment. So, I put some cut up lettuce, topped with a few shreds of cheese & a dolup of ranch into his little bowl, and sat back to watch the results. This is what I found...I was confused as to why I heard slurping....but I'm fairly certain that he sucked the ranch off of every piece of lettuce before he chewed it up. Further evidence that he is, ...

More birthday...

I'll start this post with a few final pictures of the 1st birthday bash... The future gang of friends/classmates! Colton, Brody Cox, Reagan Roberts & Mya Holderly   Opening gifts...he was truly spoiled on his first birthday! He had to take a snack break in the middle of opening things up...thankfully, Reagan was willing to share... His cake & the big cake...they were so cute, and tasty too!   Before he dove into his cake... After he dove into his cake...   The end -- a birthday party is TIRING!!! (This is probably how Jason and I looked that night too...ha) Throw in Super Bowl party on Sunday of the same weekend...Colton found himself an empty beer bottle...notice how he tips it back like an old pro! We had an amazing birthday weekend. We really are blessed. Lots of fun with family & friends.  Our lives really haven't slowed down much since then -- the following week Colton got sick...and really, he's such a good kid,...

Happy First Birthday, Colton Robert Stockment!

Wednesday, 04 February 2009 Okay, okay...so I'm a few days late, and I didn't even find the time to get on here and date stamp a Happy Birthday Message to my son --- shame on me, but honestly, there was no time. Let me recap the last week for you -- I lasted posted on Tuesday the 27th...my due date! HA Wednesday night - Mom & Dad kidnapped Colton and I to go visit Grandma while Jason did some hunting. We had a great visit - but I wasn't sure it'd be that great. About 10 minutes before Mom & Dad got to our house, Colton fell in the bathroom and cracked his head on the corner of the vanity! He finally chilled out and we had a nice visit, and a great time at dinner afterwards. No offense to JAson, but it was kind of fun to be just with my parents by myself. I'm selfish like that! :) Thursday night - My goal was to tackle cleaning the upstairs, so that it was done and I could spend all day Friday focusing on the downstairs. Jason helped with sup...

Weekend Adventures

This weekend was full of adventures. Friday evening, Doug Kingseed, a good friend of mine from Purdue (who happens to be a buddy of Dad's, now that they've met 3-4 times through out my years at Purdue and could always talk farming), came to visit. We met Mom & Dad, Trent, at Crossroads for dinner. As we got closer to leaving for Crossroads, our party grew, and it was tons of fun. Jeff & Jenna and Ross & Becky joined us, and later, Drew & Allison. We had a nice time over supper, and took the party back to Mom & Dad's when Colton was getting restless...wanting to get down and play with everyone! It was a fun evening of visiting, memories and laughter. I think Doug told my Dad more than he ever needed to know about my days at Purdue...haha :) Saturday Colton and I hung out all day, pretty much playing and piddling the day away. It was a great day together, while Jason worked some overtime. We hate to see him go on a Saturday, but know the mon...

One year photos...

Just a few fun photos from Colton's 12 month shoot -- these are scanned, so not great, but you get the picture....haha...no pun intended! HA :) Enjoy!

Weekend update!

Well, I promised an update from our fun filled weekend, so here goes nothing. Friday night was awesome -- we rented movies and got Brookston Pizza King -- and let me tell you, you've not had good pizza king pizza until you've eaten at the Brookston PK. It hit the spot. We watched Swing Vote, which was just okay. I'd give it about 2 stars....but we watched all of it. Saturday morning, the motivation bug must have bit me, because I made an appointment, and go Murphy in to get groomed. So, while we were in West Lafayette, I decided to run to Wal-Mart. Let me insert here, that I didn't even pack a diaper bag. I loaded Colton, the dog & my purse...that's it. No sippy, no diapers, no snacks - no nothing...except the bottle that he was drinking when we left the house. We got along fine in Wal-Mart, and by the time we were done there was only about an hour and a half left until Murphy would be finished...and I just knew that as soon as I drove clear ho...

Ahh...Indiana weather!

Friday, 16 January 2009 Good moring. If there are typos in this post, it's because I'm at work on this wonderful Friday morning, sitting in my coat, scarf & gloves. And yes, I have an indoor office job. Apparently, when it's really cold, that's a great time to "curtail" the use of the Universitys steam supply, therefore, reducing heat output around the campus. Therefore, our office is FREEZING. When I got here at 8am, it registered at 52 degrees....mind you that it's currently NEGATIVE 16 outside....so, really, 52 should feel like a heatwave....but it doesn't. As of 10am, it's climbed to about 56, thanks to Lindsay's little space heater there across the room....but it's still retarded that we have to stay and work in these conditions. I mean honestly -- gloves, while typing?? I have to admit, I feel really bad for the students (and my husband) who have to actually work out in this crap!  Except, I can't say that I fee...
