Life at our house is certainly not boring right now...
- Colton fought me on Saturday night about getting off a toy and eating his supper, so I lifted him off the toy, and put him back at the dinner table. (Right before we left on our really, really, fun double date) and was crying as I left saying, "Mommy hurted me"...........but I assumed he was just being tired/dramatic, and off we went. Grandma Jacki reported when we got home, that his arm really must hurt, because he favored it/didn't use it all night. Yeah, Mom of the year. I felt AWFUL. After a Urgent Care visit on Sunday morning (where THANKFULLY he didn't tell the doctor that "mommy hurted me"...) we found out he had nursemaid's elbow. The doc twisted him right back into shape (and Colton didn't even cry!!) and off we went. Thank goodness it wasn't something more serious.
- Emmalyn is still fighting her cold, and I'm pretty sure she's getting teeth too. Let me tell you how that combination is working out for us............NOT WELL!!! Little stink is pretty particular that Momma holds her........................................all the time. This is not good for the shape of our house, nor for the laundry getting done...however, the snuggle time is nice...especially when she flashes one of those huge grins after a giant crying fit.
- Colton is totally repeating and listening more than we realize. A few examples:
- He called his dad on the way to Pam's this morning: "Hi Dad", "Hi Colton, what are you doing?" "Going at Pam's, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" (Perfect amount of sarcasm). "Gotta go Dad, bye"..............and he hung up.
- I've been enjoying the fact that Colton request "stuck like glue" when we get in the car, and that he sings along, "You me babe stuck ike goo"...
- His Dad retaliated that by teaching him "Rockstar" by Nickelback. He can't sing it, but he now requests it in the car.
- Randomly, yesterday, he pipes up from the back seat..."smoke and drink dad....turn on smoke and drink"............................................which after some consideration, we decided is the new Eric Church (I think) song, "Smoke a little smoke, drink a little drink".................................................
- At breakfast yesterday, she asked if he wanted sprite in his cup, and Colton replied, without a blink "heck ya..."...and he uses this phrase A LOT!!!
- When Colton gets in trouble at Pam's, she said he almost ALWAYS will throw his hands out to the side, and say, "But, I'm just a guy"....
Sounds like a lot of fun times! Thanks for sharing the new blog. I had fun catching up with you, and seeing new pics of the kiddos.
