Thanksgiving Weekend

We sure had a fun Thanksgiving weekend, and we've got so much to be thankful for this year. My friend/cousin Lacy, did this on her blog, as she was encouraged to do by her Bishop in New York. I liked the idea, and I'm stealing it...a few days post thanksgiving. Let's face it...thanksgiving might only be one day, but we've got something to be thankful for, each and every day.

Jason - I couldn't be more thankful for Jason. I look at our lives today, compared to what they were when we first met, and I couldn't imagine being in this place/time without him. Sure, there are days when we don't see eye to eye (he's very stubborn, you know), but ultimately, he makes me laugh when I want to be mad, he's an amazing father, a provider for our family and a super friend. I've always said, that through our family history, God put us together for a reason. I've never stopped doubting that. Jason, thank you, for being all that you are, not only to me, but to our beautiful children! This life wouldn't be what it is, without you.

Colton - Wow, where do I start? You are truly a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. You'll always be my baby, and I'm thankful that you were our first. You've made being a parent easier than I thought it was supposed to be. That said, you're only 3, so don't go changing on me in a few years, do you understand? :) Your curious personality, your bright smile and beautiful blue eyes are something I will be eternally thankful for. You are truly a gift from God. I love you.

Emmalyn - My baby girl. Your smile could simply melt my heart. That's likely the reason your daddy thinks your spoiled! I can't resist picking you up and squeezing you when you give me that little grin. You have the biggest, most beautiful eyes that are the window to your soul. You are a great baby and I hope and pray, that as you grow older, you and I can share a bond that is unbreakable, just like my own Mom & I do. God blessed me with a little girl, so that one day, I might always have a close friend. And so that I could buy bows and dresses and all the cute little things that come with baby girls! ;) Thank you, for helping make our family complete.

Jason likes to tease me that we're done having kids. Our family is complete. I beg to differ and that's always an ongoing discussion in our home. It's up to God, this we both know, but for now, we're perfectly content with the many blessings he's given us. They are truly blessings...on the good days and bad, and for that, we are certainly thankful!

Our families - Jason and I are both blessed to come from an amazing support group called family. They've been there for us, through thick and thin, and have never let us down. They spoil our children, help us with odd jobs around the farm, helped us prepare our home and move to the farm, and in general, are our sounding board and support group on a day to day basis. Thank you, parents & siblings, for you too are some of God's greatest gifts in our life. This family circle wouldn't be complete without you! :)

Get Well Soon, Grandpa Kent

Here's the best way to share Dad's video. Thank you all so much for submitting the clips. This really made him smile (and say some funny things the first time we watched soon after anesthesia). I think it will be treasured company this evening in the hospital. Thank you for your prayers, your thoughts, for answering the phone calls and lifting Dad up. We appreciate all your love and support.  58E2238E-D2E3-4B38-9FF6-AE1E502ABD14.mp4

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

April - Hey Batter, Batter...

April is always the month that makes us think spring is FINALLY here, because it's starting to warm up, suns starting to shine more, except when we finally get to the baseball/softball fields, it's just as cold as it was in February. Thankfully, Emmalyn had an indoor sport to carry us through the cold of the month, until baseball/softball really got kicked off! Emmalyn tried something new this year and participated in CiVic vollebyall. This is a club program out of Carroll County, and she practiced every Sunday from January through April. Finally in late April she had three play dates. One Saturday we played up at Fairmount, IN. Grandma Jacki, Keaton and I went with Emmalyn, while Dad, Grandpa and Colton cut down some trees in preparation for our spring projects. Emmalyn and Mae Ella did a wonderful job for their team, both rocked their serving and seemed to know the game and keep their cool better than some on the team. The second weekend Dad, Em & Mom traveled to Triton H...
