Christmas Recap

Well, the holidays always put us to the test, and the fact that I haven't blogged in nearly a month can assure you that we've been ON THE GO! :) I absolutely love Christmastime and the memories that come with it. Through the years, things have changed in that we don't get together with the Hall side any longer (Insert a super, super sad face here....those were some GREAT times) and of course, Christmas itself is different because we have our own kids to focus on. We work to make Christmas as magical for them as it was for us growing up. I think we created a wonderful memory this year by adopting Kid the elf. Colton loved it, and has asked several times since Christmas (when Kid flew back to live with Santa until next Christmas season) and we had a great afternoon making Christmas candies and rolls with Aunt Stacy...which has become somewhat of a tradition.

Even though Christmas is a little bit different in the parent role than it was in the kid role -- it's all worth it when you see the excitement in your children's faces on Christmas morning. I count our blessings that we are able to provide them a nice Christmas, and that we were able to take a small part in providing a nice Christmas for some area families with the Stockment side of the family. I hope our kids learned that it's better to give than to receive...although, Jason and I's parents don't really help with that lesson. They spoiled the CRAP out of all us! ;) The kids are young, and if we can continue to be generous at Christmas, they'll learn that it's better to give than to receive. I hope. I'll let some pictures do the talking, but we had a wonderful holiday. We are blessed beyond words and are so thankful for the special time and memories made with our families. The world will keep on spinning and our kids will keep growing up. Sure wish some days we could keep them right where they are.......you can't trade these years for anything!
