Photoshoot!

Colton and I did a photoshoot tonight. The weather was great, so we took our blanket out and played outside. As the sun was setting, I decided to go nuts with the camera..Colton actually cooperated pretty well. Here are the results. We had fun playing while Dad was playing with the mower...of course, these are only a few of the many, and I will post more...but wanted to get a few up for now. I'm partial...but I think we've got a pretty darn cute kid!! Oh yeah, and he took his first tractor ride...with Dad on the lawnmower! :)

A.D.D.!

What is it about cleaning on a Saturday, that makes me so reminscent? And it's not something I can easily turn and blame on pregnancy or being a mom...I've been this way since high school. I guess I'm just a nostalgic kind of person. I can remember helping Mom clean growing up, and she always knew not to give me too important of a task, because it wouldn't be long and I'd be off task. One particular instance I'll never forget, and perhaps it's because Mom brings it up alot -- is a Saturday afternoon when Mom asked me to simply dust the house for her. Dust. It's easy. It requires a can of pledge and an old rag. You spray, you wipe, you move on. These were the tasks my mother entrusted me with. I'd dusted the in the living room, with no problem, but as I moved into the formal living room, I found an old photo book. I started flipping the pages, and looking at pictures. While doing that, I decided that I wanted to make a batch of cookies...

Milestones

Colton is growing and changing more and more each day. It's amazing to watch him. 2 1/2 months ago, he was this tiny little creature, who just looked at us like "Who the heck are you, and what's going on here?"  Now, he lights up with big grins when he sees familiar faces, he knows Mom & Dad's voices, and he loves to play with his bouncy seat & kick n crawl toys. We were lucky, as Jason and I were both very skeptical about little babies and how fragile their necks are -- Colton has been very strong from the get go, holding his head up and looking all over the place. I suppose that's the "nosy, I don't want to miss anything" gene, that he gets straight from his mother! :)  One of the big things when I came back to work was the fear that Colton would start reaching milestones at the babysitters, and I would miss his first steps, first words, etc. On Saturday, Jason and I got a HUGE surprise. We were folding laundry, mess...

We're getting so big!

We had a complete whirlwind weekend...and I mean a, "whew...glad we survived" kind of weekend -- Friday night we cleaned house, sort of, and then Saturday we were up early so that I could finish up cleaning and Jason could go help Seth pull out a fence row. Colton was great...he totally cooperated long enough for me to get the house clean.  The little turkey wouldn't nap, but he was content. In fact, I think he actually enjoyed hearing me run the sweeper...he was kind of mystified by it all.   About  1pm on Saturday, several of the Robinson's came for a visit -- and I'm not talking immediate family. We're talking about the Robinson's that grew up with my Grandma and her sisters. Ann, JoAnn, June and Kean, and several of their own family members were in Brookston for a day, and wanted to see Colton. Truthfully, I think they wanted to see the house and the farm, but I think they got a kick out of Colton too! :) There were probably 25 people...

2 Months Old

Well, these were taken a few days late (this morning actually) but I got them pretty close to the date. It's so hard to believe that Colton is 2 months old already! Where does the time go? And now that I'm back working...it seems to go even faster. It's nuts! But, we have been getting along very well with the baby sitter. We are so happy with Pam, and Colton doesn't seem to mind staying there one bit! It's been so much easier to leave him this week...of course, my first choice would be to stay home, but unless someone donates oodles of money, that's not an option. (PS...we are open if there are any takers...we wouldn't be offended if you offered up lots of cash! ) Tonight we're going out to visit Grandpa & Grandma Hall. Grandpa has done lots of work to his office (home away from home) in the shop and we're anxious to see the progress. Plus, we probably won't get a chance to visit with them this weekend...it's a doozy. We...

Well. I did it. I survived.

Tuesday, 01 April 2008 If you would have seen me Sunday evening, about 9pm...you would have thought I was pregnant. I was entering the final hours of my 8 weeks of maternity leave, and anticipating taking Colton to the babysitter for the first time. It was like that wave of crazy pregnancy horomones just overwhelmed me once again, and wham...all I could do was hold my baby and cry every time he grinned at his silly crybaby mommy. Thankfully, Jason was a champ...he just hugged me and told me how good of a mom I've been to Colton and that helped...but still, I felt like I was letting my baby down by not being able to stay home with him. I don't want to miss a single minute...not his first giggles, his first steps, rolling over, etc. I want those to be our moments...not the babysitters. Granted...I love our babysitter, but still...those should be our moments right? And they probably will be, but still...the thought of missing them just makes me sad. But, Monday ca...

Colton's First Easter

Colton's first Easter went off without a hitch. He was even in a good mood for the better half of the day. I swear though, this kid knows when we can sleep in, and when we can't. Friday night...he went down at probably 9:30, and slept until 3am, fed, and was back to sleep until 8am. Saturday night, I swear he knew I had to be up early to get everyone around on Sunday...so he didn't go down until 10:45ish, slept til 1:45, was up until 3am, and then back to sleep until 6:30...except I had to be up at 5:30. The kid knows how to mess with my sleep...I'm convinced! So, I got up, got myself ready, got Jason up just as Colton decided he'd finally wake up. I got Colton a bath, and we had our bags packed and were ready for Church by 7:15...off to church at 8am. Colton fell back asleep at 7:30, and didn't wake up at all until 10:30. He slept all through church, through the end of mass when my Dad (who would much rather have Colton awake than sleeping...) d...
