Sheer Stupidity

Have you ever done something, for the thrill & excitement of it, only to look back later and realize how dumb it was? You know, like partying so hard on your 21st birthday, then totally regretting it when you're still feeling like crap at 4pm the next day? Or playing chicken with another car? Or...well, you get the picture. Let me set the stage for our latest bout with stupidity. We have family, namely Seth Maxwell, who works in the fertilizer business, and has recently been working with the local crop dusters to fill their tanks, so that they can do their job. (Insert note here courtesy of Wikipedia: A agricultural aircraft is an aircraft that has been built or converted for agricultural use - usually aerial application of pesticides ( crop dusting ) or fertiliser ( aerial topdressing ); in these roles they are referred to as "crop dusters" or "top dressers". Agricultural aircraft are also used for hydroseeding .). After visiting at our h...

Fun July Weekend

We had another great, but fast, weekend. Friday night, we got to see Trent & Lisa Stinson, and their little boy Grant. Unfortunately, we couldn't make it to Grant's 1st Birthday party on Saturday, so we went to visit a day early. He's so cute, and he and Colton were playing together all evening. They were pretty nice to each other too...sharing toys, and being gentle with each other. It was fun to watch them interact. Saturday, Jason worked all day, while I attended a funeral and then ran errands in Monticello with Mom and Colton. I worked on cleaning up the house Saturday afternoon, before we headed up to the White County Fair. I had big plans for taking lots of pictures of Colton at the fair...but didn't take a single one. I'm still hoping to go back up there one more night, so I've got one more chance...we'll see if I can remember to take any pictures or not? Sunday was kind of busy in it's own right too. We headed up to Chalmers ...

Awesome Website

So, Lindsay, who I share an office with, recently shared a website with me. Remember, I love to be creative. I think scrapbooking is awesome. However, I do not have the time, not the resources to buy everything it takes to make an awesome scrapbook. Hence, this is my new favorite website. WWW.SCRAPBLOG.COM -- check it out. If you are a Mom, if you have friends (haha...of course you do...that sounded bad), if you love pictures, if you have traveled, whatever....this site is awesome. You can totally create awesome scrapbook pages, all online. And, you can print them off at Wal-Mart, for cheap, and they look great, because we tested it out!  (And you really don't even have to share it publicly. You can set the settings to keep it private, and oh yeah, ITS FREE!!). Lindsay and I have been doing about one a day, over our lunches, and then saving them as jpegs and setting them as our screensaver-- aren't we smart? Okay, Lindsay's the smart one, but she's a good...

Countdown to Craziness!

So, in about a month, we're going on vacation. It's gonna be fun, but hot. Really. Really. HOT. But that's okay...we'll be oceanside on a beautiful island with some great people. We're going to Dauphin Island, Alabama, with Seth & Jenna Maxwell, John, Jessica & Meredith Gretencord, Austin & Jill Pangle, and Ryan Clark. It's a fun group of people, I think anyway. Last night...we had a planning meeting to talk vehicles, travel plans, food, etc. Seth & Jen were kind enough to host a little cookout, and in doing so, I think we got a pretty good taste of what to expect during meal times in Alabama. Of course, once the food was prepared, Jason and I's plates were filled, and we'd sat down to enjoy, Colton got extremely jealous, and decided it was time for him to eat too. He does this...I swear the kid knows food. So, Jason held him and continued eating, and once Ryan finished his plate, he offered to take Colton. While I finishe...

I love my life.

Monday, 23 June 2008 I'm blessed. And this is why. I have two amazing boys who love me....and I could not love both of them more. Seriously, how could you resist this? These two boys are the reason that I love my life. God truly blessed us with a beautiful baby boy...we both agree, we couldn't be luckier to have him around. One grin from this kid, and my heart melts! One grin from the big kid melts my heart too...cheers to beautiful babies and handsome husbands!

Where does time go?

Holy cow. Time flies. I used to update this website often. Now, I'm lucky to get in one good post a week, and I've become really lazy with it too...just posting pictures. I swear to try to write more sometime soon, but I'm here to tell you -- it's summertime, and that means lots of summer conferences. We survived last week -- barely. Between having a fire alarm on the first day of Home & Family, to watching it turn pitch black & a rain storm right after we loaded their buses to head out for tours on Friday afternoon...we made it. And 4-H went off with out a hitch too, although, I wasn't able to make it over to visit them nearly as often as I would have liked. Thankfully, they are self-sufficient. So, a busy three days at work, lead right into a busy weekend. I don't really have any pictures to show for it -- but I can recap what we did. Friday night was date night. Jason and I hadn't been out on a date lately, and they give you a gi...

A few fun things!

It's a really busy day for me at work. I've got 400 older women checking in today for the Home & Family Conference. It's the 92nd year for the conference, and I'm pretty confident that most of the attendees have been here since day 1. They are older, and they are sassy. In conjunction with the Home & Family Conference, is the Extension Homemakers Choral Performance & Festival Day, which adds about 250-300 more women to the mix. Only these women are fun -- they get all dressed up in outfits to match their song, and really rock out. I've not seen so many fancy sequined outfits since my Senior Prom!!! Talk about being in the sea of menopause & senility....these women are a real piece of work. Should I ever get to that point as an older adult....tell me to shut up and be polite. And remind me that I'm too old for sequins. On the split side of that -- I've got 500 pubescent teenagers checking in for 3 days away from home and mom and...
