The little rat update...

Well, we've entered 9 months, and Colton weighed in at a whopping 23 lbs (22 lb 15 oz. to be exact)  and 28 1/2 inches long. He's Huge....go ahead, say it...he's got some Hall in him. But, he's an adorable huge right? He has been so fun lately - and folks, I'm here to say, that at 9 months, 15 days...the kid is on the verge of walking. It won't be long, all the signs are there, and he's a pretty determined guy -- what can we say, he gets that honest from both of his parents. Not to much new to update -- Colton's finally feeling better, although, has another snotty nose and a bit of a cough. I have a feeling it'll be never ending this winter. Jason's in Heaven -- it's hunting season and he's seen several good bucks. Shotgun opens up tomorrow, so we'll have Jacob all weekend, and I'll basically be one of those hunting widows. Work has slowed almost to a halt. I've got a quick registration for a conference in the...

Colton vs. Spaghetti - Take 1

Well...I made spaghetti casserole last night for dinner, and as we sat down to eat, it occurred to me that there was probably no good reason why Colton couldn't have a little bit of what we were having, vs. baby food. So, we gave it a go. And, the following ensued...HE LOVED IT!!! I wouldn't watch the video if you actually like spaghetti...I think my dad said it best when he said that a baby can make the most delicious food look completely nasty! HA We had to laugh, because at first, he just kind of looked at his tray, like "what do I do with that?" And we didn't have the camera out to catch it (it's probably what clicked the light bulb to go get the camera) but he picked up his first scoop of dinner, and immediately plopped his hand over hte side of the tray, and needless to say, he made Murphy's day....he just dropped that whole handful of spaghetti right onto the floor for his buddy Murph! Finally....he figured it out it was for him....

Two in one day...scary!

Well, with Halloween tomorrow, I thought I'd go ahead and freak everyone out and do two posts in two days. A new world record for me! HA Besides, last nights happenings were too funny/cute to not share. Plus, this might just be a short post...unless I go into "storytelling mode"...I hear I get windy? So, Colton was cranky when I picked him up from Pam's last night, and I worried that he'd be a little shit on the fun night we had planned. He was kind of cranky, but fell asleep taking his bottle from Gram on the way down to see Great Grandma. Of course, right as we pulled in, he dozed off. But, lucky enough for us, he woke right up, and was actually happy. So, we got him all dressed up, and took him in to see Great Grandma, trick or treating if you will. My Grandma Hall LOVES babies (duh, she had 9 of her own), and so obviously, she just goos and gaas over the little ones when they come see her. She thought Colton was adorable, and "just perf...

Almost Halloween

It's getting kind of sad that I start every new post with -- "sorry it's taken me so long" -- when I first started this, I was on it. Blogging nearly 2-3 times a week...now, I'm lucky to get in one good post a month! HA What's more is that I can find any excuse under the sun to blame this on - busy at work, busy at home, etc -- but the bottom line is this -- I just need to make the time to write, because when Colton's all grown up, I want to have something to look back on and remember his first years by. As Mike Birbiglia would say ... this is sort of my "secret public journal" -- with pictures attached. So today, as I sit here and eat my WW meal at my desk, I'll try to update you on what we've been up to. Work is going okay...slower than September, but certainly still busy. I'm learning that life hardly ever slows down. You know how we were so excited for Colton to start crawling? I'm totally over that. In fact, ...

More Fun...

Something went screwy with that post, so I'll add more here -- instead.  After taking our turn riding with Grandpa, I took Colton back to the house, and he got to play with Great Grandma Hancock -- she'd come out to ride in the combine too. Her first time in all her 80 years! Can you believe it? Regardless...she had a good time with Colton back at the house... But when she tried to kiss on him...he wasn't into that... So, she scooped him up and made him be into it! After Grandma left, I went back out to the field, to ride with Dad some more...little did I know what he had in store. That's right...I drove. It was cool, and I wasn't half bad...except, I was totally not good at lining the spouts up with the rows...Dad always had to do that over for me. Other than that, he said I wasn't half bad! All in all, it was a great day. We went back after everyone was finished, had a nice supper, and started a campfire in Mom's firepit. Matt & S...

Pictures. That's all. Kind of.

I promised pictures in my last post, and today, I'm following through. What a great weekend. Saturday, after work, we got to hang out at the farm, and it was such a beautiful day. The weather was great, Colton was a good baby, it was fun to ride with Dad. Just a good day to spend with family. Part of the reason I love this time of year! Okay...enough said. Here are pictures... Great Grandma Hall turned 88 on Tuesday of last week. Colton and I had the day off, so we visited. See the balloons -- Colton LOVED them -- Aunt Dee held them up, and of course, the pictures were harder to capture...he wanted to watch the balloons, not mommy. And, finally...Colton SCREAMING Happy Birthday to Great Grandma -- she absolutely lights up when he comes to visit. I'm not sure sometimes that she realizes that he's my baby, but she LOVES babies....maybe that's why she had 9 of her own? Regardless...this is the best kind of medicine for Grandma. She's just all g...

Already October

Would you believe it if I told you alot has happened since my last post? What did I promise in that post, next week, I would write? I should have said two weeks. I swear, September threw me through the ringer, and made me lose all sense of time. I swore that if I could just get through those three hectic weeks, life would slow down. Well, I must not plan very far in advance, because within the blink of an eye, I've got another 400+ group in today, and I'm at work on the weekend. It's Saturday folks, which is significantly better in my eyes than Sunday, but I'm still here at work, in dress clothes on one of the two days a week that are supposed to be devoted to comfy jeans, sweatshirts, and all the time in the world for my baby. Oh well, while I'm sitting here counting down the minutes until I can go home (2ish), Grandma Hall is having a ball. I'd venture to guess that Grandpa Hall is too...in his own right. Jason's playing farmer today, helpin...
