We've almost made it -- and I'm sure Jason couldn't be happier. It's like he's been running a marathon for the past 2 1/2 months, and he can finally see the finish line. Me, I'm just the person who signs up for the marathon, only to walk more than I run. Go figure...but I ran a few miles...just not the full race. I'm super proud of Jason for the work he's done, and the effort he's put into things. Our house looks like a brand new place, and we are both so excited to be able to enjoy it.Carpet comes today...should be going in anytime, which is great -- that means all the floors are done. We've got only the laundry room and back bathroom to trim, and then touch up paint, etc, before we move in. How exciting. Move in will likely take place later this week/weekend. I don't think things could have wrapped up at any more of a busy time...we've got Seth & Jenna's wedding this weekend, and Sunday I've got my first Baby Shower and the Youth Group Christmas Party. I'll likely not go to the Christmas party, although I hate to miss...but if moving in is taking place, I'm going to want to get back to the house to help out where I can, and get things ready for us to spend our first night together in the country!
No new pictures -- Thanksgiving weekend was pretty low key for us. Aside from making some major progress with the laminate floor on Wednesday, we pretty much had a low key, clean up, tidy up, get ready for carpet weekend. Friday they put down the vinyl flooring in the bathroom and laundry room, but will have to fix up the laundry room, because it's got some bubbles in it. While they were doing vinyl inside, Jason and Trevor took to the barn and hung lights, and got a few electrical outlets out there for us, which will be nice for when we want to have outdoor parties. It worked out great for Seth's Bachelor party on Friday evening...done just in the knick of time. Saturday Jason slept in. Finally. For the first time, in I'd say....2 1/2 months. He was like a bear in hibernation, he wasn't coming out! We had the Stockment Thanksgiving at 12:30, then down to the house to clean, prep for trim work Sunday, and get things put away and cleaned up. Sunday he and Chris Demerly trimmed out the entire downstairs, minus the laundry room that should be getting fixed. Sunday afternoon Mom & I cleaned up teh kitchen/bathroom, and Jacki, Brad & Jacob showed up to help. We did what odds and ends we could, then took off for Lafayette for a few extra supplies. Today is carpet day, and I think Rhoda is coming out to run hot water. After that...I think we're pretty darn close to move in. Did I mention I'm excited for that part??
Really, we've not seen our "stuff" in almost 3 months -- our bed, our dresser, our couch, knick knacks, picture frames, CLOTHES!!! (poor Jason has to be freezing...he's still wearing early fall clothes!!).
I'll keep you posted on the progress. Hope that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving, and got to spend lots of time with friends & family. We had a great time with family & friends, and are anxious for the Maxwell wedding this weekend. More good times, with great people! Until next time...
