Thanksgiving

It's the week before Christmas and all through the house....I realize I've been a bad blogger, as quiet as a mouse. (Okay, I won't quit my day job...)

But seriously -- it's been so crazy, I've got some catch up posting to do! Thanksgiving was a nice long weekend this year. Late in November, but still fun. We kicked off the eat til you puke season with the Stockment side on the 16th. The kids had a BLAST at Luke & Karlie's and we got some great pics of these two cuties...
Brooks Benakovich & Keaton -- just a mere month apart in age!
Colton had such a good time playing basketball with Isaac ... that he fell asleep on the way home. I have no idea how he managed to sleep like this...

Sore neck, anyone?
Colton got to take part in his Thanksgiving Feast at school. I worked hard to create a cute little Indian costume for him, as they were to either dress as a Pilgrim or Indian. He left the house that morning looking like this.
Yes, he's pretending to pick his nose. He's a 5 year old boy. Apparently, that's cool.
When I got there to help, I anxiously waited as all the cute little Pilgrims and Indian's filed in. Imagine my dismay (okay...down right pissed-off-ed-ness) when my little Indian walked in dress like a civilian. Apparently, the teacher said you didn't HAVE to wear your costume, so he stripped it all off after the group picture that morning. GO FIGURE!
We still had fun...costume or no. And he ate like a champ!
Thanksgiving day came and we headed to Aunt Nina's to be with the Hall side. FUN DAY...that spawned Mom & I to feed the consumer nightmare, and head out shopping. We hated the thought behind it, but did find a few deals, and had a great time people watching!
This was 11:30pm. She was still going strong!!!

We also came across these $11 candy bars...they were HUGE.
Keaton reached a new milestone on Thanksgiving day -- we couldn't let the little guy just watch us eat all day -- so we fed him his first go of rice cereal with a spoon. He loved it!
First bites. Messy, but good!
He was less thrilled with the cute Turkey Headband.

All in all - it was a wonderful Thanksgiving. We spent the rest of the weekend getting in the Christmas spirit, since, well, we didn't have much time to make that transition.

Friday night we had a Christmas Jammie Party with Sawyer & new baby Ryder. Such great kids -- we had a fun night watching Elf on the Shelf and playing!
Sunday was the Robinson Thanksgiving, and then back to work! Love those stretches of days off to enjoy with the kiddos! They come and go far too quickly! However, this season, we had three wonderful reasons to be thankful -- and we enjoyed them as much as we could!

Get Well Soon, Grandpa Kent

Here's the best way to share Dad's video. Thank you all so much for submitting the clips. This really made him smile (and say some funny things the first time we watched soon after anesthesia). I think it will be treasured company this evening in the hospital. Thank you for your prayers, your thoughts, for answering the phone calls and lifting Dad up. We appreciate all your love and support.  58E2238E-D2E3-4B38-9FF6-AE1E502ABD14.mp4

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

April - Hey Batter, Batter...

April is always the month that makes us think spring is FINALLY here, because it's starting to warm up, suns starting to shine more, except when we finally get to the baseball/softball fields, it's just as cold as it was in February. Thankfully, Emmalyn had an indoor sport to carry us through the cold of the month, until baseball/softball really got kicked off! Emmalyn tried something new this year and participated in CiVic vollebyall. This is a club program out of Carroll County, and she practiced every Sunday from January through April. Finally in late April she had three play dates. One Saturday we played up at Fairmount, IN. Grandma Jacki, Keaton and I went with Emmalyn, while Dad, Grandpa and Colton cut down some trees in preparation for our spring projects. Emmalyn and Mae Ella did a wonderful job for their team, both rocked their serving and seemed to know the game and keep their cool better than some on the team. The second weekend Dad, Em & Mom traveled to Triton H...
