Weekend fun!


We had a fun weekend recently -- filled with good times. Friday night we went to Indiana Beach with John, Jess & Meredith. Saturday was Stacy's Bachelorette Party on the River and Sunday was Gram Pat's birthday party at Brad & Jacki's, followed by dinner at Matt & Amanda's. (Surely some of you are sighing about right now -- going, jeez, they run around A LOT!). Truthfully, i am too, after reading that...but you know what's sad. We didn't have ANYTHING planned for Friday night. Nothing. Who's idea was it to go to Indiana Beach even though she's running on empty.....MINE! I swear to you, there is something genetically wrong with me, that I can't not have something going on. Granted, looking back, we had a great time. But I'm exhausted, and we're going right into another crazy weekend. Although, hopefully this one will be more relaxing....kind of vacationish. We're going to Spring Mill State Park for Brock & Kelsey's wedding. Should be a good time with the Robinson's....never a dull moment anyway!

I bought some Cotton Candy (how do you say no to that stuff) and Colton apparently didn't care for the first bite I gave him....

The kids rode almost every ride by themselves....but this one they said an adult should probably ride. So I took one for the team....I think they enjoyed it. Watching Meredith's face was hilarious....it was like, "WHAT THE HECK"....until Colton would laugh, then she thought it was hilarious!

This is the only appropriate picture to share from Stacy's Bach Party...the boys met us back at Clay's after the float trip...Dad was lovin it! :)
 
Gram Pat's Birthday Party


Colton didn't want to share Meredith's tractor with anyone....so he was obviously not happy with Isaac riding it around!  Happy as a lark once he had it back....we need to work on sharing!

And finally -- our visit with Matt & Amanda. Matt is ALWAYS telling me to keep Colton away from his daughter, etc, etc....you know, protective dads of little girls.Well, you'll appreciate the last picture, where it's totally obvious that Mya has a thing for Colton! :)

Yes, she's grabbing his leg, and kind of grinning about it too!

Covid ... the end. (Hopefully. Maybe. I really don't know....)

 Almost two years ago, exactly, our world drastically changed. Everyone holed up at home, scared to enter the world and catch Covid 19/Corona Virus. (Except Jason, once he got to feeling better from most likely having Covid before it was a known thing, he just went to work everyday like nothing had changed). The world basically shut down  -- special hours, curbside pick up encouraged, no dining room service only drive through or carryout. If someone coughed or sneezed anywhere near you, you were instantly suspicious. Our parents lived on complete edge and worry, taking in every ounce of information the news was constantly throwing in their faces. It was a time of great uncertainty, lots of information being thrown at us from trusted news sources, social media, and hearsay from those in the medical profession.  We spent March to May just trying to figure out our new life. No baseball. No softball. Lots of time with our animals. Lots of crafts. School from home. Porch drop ...

Central Indiana Winter Spectacular

 We kicked off show season with this set of calves in mid-January at the Central Indiana Winter Spectacular, a first time show down in Cloverdale, Indiana. I'm not sure what was more fun - being with our kids and friends at a cattle show, or listening to our kids meddle over the thought of staying in a Motel 6.  (Backstory on this one -- when I worked at Purdue/in the Conference division, I held a few conference at The Hyatt in downtown Indianapolis. When I had events there, I'd earn points. We then would use those points for free night stays....I think I had maybe 15 or so over the years. So, the only hotel my kids know, is a Hyatt, because unbeknownst to them, it was FREE.....which is the ONLY reason we stayed in such a nice place with young kids. So, imagine their dismay when the Motel 6 in Cloverdale didn't have an Eagles Nest rotating up top, or an indoor pool and hot tub/workout area. We have officially raised hotel snobs.....because when we finally took them to the k...
